January 21st – Vasantha Panchami
On the 21st of Jan, the school celebrated yellow colour day. A day dedicated to the yellow colour was marked with children dressed in different hues and tints of yellow. Children were not only beautifully dressed in their favourite yellow dresses but also brought yellow objects to make it a complete “Yellow Day”! Tiffins were filled with bananas, custard, jelly, lemons, mangoes, pineapples etc. Attractive yellow coloured toys like racing cars, teddy bears, dolls, balls, balloons made the environment bright and active.
followed by Vasantha Panchami celebrations. We had our students speaking about the importance of education and had a short prayer held. We had tiny tots recite different shlokas. As per Hindu beliefs, Maa Saraswati, the deity of learning, music and art, was born on this day and thus, to achieve wisdom and art from her, people celebrate Basant Panchami as Saraswati Pooja.
